Headache symptoms

What are the symptoms of a headache? Pain - that's the easy one. When speaking about headaches, though, you must become more subtle and precise when describing the nature, location, and duration of your pain.

Is it dull or pulsing or spiking or throbbing? Is it between your eyes or in the back of your head or all over and crawling down your neck for good measure? Is it making you see zig-zags or feel nauseated?

Most of the time, headaches go away on their own or with over-the-counter medication, but there are times when a headache can be a sign of a more serious problem.

The symptoms of a tension headache are slightly different from the symptoms of a cluster headache or a sinus headache. Finding a way to describe your headache pain could help you find the right treatment.
